  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Recommend a Dealer Service Department

I took my GV80 in for my first service at 1 year 6000 miles. (I don’t drive much) I have not had any issues with the car that needed addressing so it was just a service. I got the car at Naples Hyundai/Genesis. I have dealerships closer to me, but I decided to go back to them as that is where I got it. I did not request the valet service as I am over an hour away. (1 hour and 12 minutes via google)

My appointment was for 1PM and I arrived shortly before that. I pulled into the valet area and went up to the service desk. When the lady looked up my appointment, she ushered me over to the Genesis service counter around the corner. The took care of me right a way and asked a few questions. The Service man said it would be two hour service and asked if I wanted a loner to drive around for a while. I said no, if it is only going to take 2 hours, I would wait for it. He told me if I wanted the interior cleaned as well as a car wash it would take an extra ½ hour, so I passed on the interior and got the carwash. My car is pretty clean inside. The moved the car from the valet area to a parking space around the corner. At 1:30 someone came out of the building and took my car into the shop. At 2PM I got a call telling me my car was ready. Right when promised. When I was getting my keys he asked me why I did not use the valet service and I told him I liver over an hour away. He looked at my address on the bill and smiled, well we could always meet you halfway. I thought that was nice.

I also asked him about the seat belt recall and he said they are aware of it, but have not gotten any instructions for Genesis as he thought they really don’t know what parts they are going to replace.

So great experience and I think I will go back there next year or when I need any warranty work. After reading all about the nightmares here on this forum, I am happy with my result.

Almost all of us employees have stayed. We lost a couple that didn't want to be involved with a big corporation, but not much will be changing. Penske has a lot more money than Terry does, so he will be investing a lot of money into the facility, and we'll break ground on a standalone Genesis dealership within a year. Only thing changing in the near future is our oil vendor. We will be switching to Pennzoil from Valvoline. If we're making money with what we're doing, which we are, Penske doesn't want to change anything.
My previous cars were BMWs purchased and serviced at a Penske dealership. My experiences were positive.

Genesis of Scottsdale.

So far, very positive service experience. Electrified G80 loaner. Fixed drive shaft as per recall but also replaced rotors because I had a squeal backing up. At the moment it is a shared facility but they have just opened (or are about to open) a showroom in an upscale quasi outdoor mall about two miles from my house. But the service is at the Hyundal facility but there will eventually be a separate line for the Genesis cars.

Interestingly, to me, there is another Hyundai dealership in Scottsdale but it does not have a Genesis store.

Funny how people mention "showroom".
I must have hit 15 dealerships of all kinds of cars, and not one had a car in the showroom. I guess with this market, there is no need to market.
I had my BMW X3 in the dealership for service yesterday. There were only 4 cars on the floor. An X7 and an X5 both really nice. But they were both marked "Sold" and locked. The other two were pre-owned vehicles.

Can anyone here recommend a good service dealership in North Ga area? I have a local Genesis dealer...but I haven't used them (Cartersville, GA).

Usually have to schedule a couple weeks out, but I live ~ 1hr away and they always bring me a loaner.
I purchased my car there and had an excellent experience. Their service department is the best I've found in the Front Range. And, they offered to bring a loaner to me also 1 hr away.

Any thoughts how the change might effect sales and service?
My prior BMWs were purchased from and serviced by a Penske dealership. I had excellent service from them. Never needed an appointment, always got a loaner and even had the service manager assist me in convincing the BMW regional rep to agree to a quasi lemon law for me, avoiding the necessity of litigation (and, alas, avoiding some fun as I am a retired litigator).

Genesis of Scottsdale has completed its build. The showroom is at the Scottsdale Quarter outdoor mall and they have finished building and opening a Genesis service building on the grounds of and next to the Hyundai service building but a separate building. So far, so good for service.

I have had my ’21 GV80 serviced at Genesis of Santa Rosa since it was new, 3½ years ago. They do/did a great job. But when I last called them in January to set up a service appointment, I was told that they were no longer servicing Genesis vehicles…. Can anyone provide more information?

Dealer most likely declined the requirement to build a Genesis dedicated dealership thereby forfeiting their Genesis franchise
