  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Good evening. We bought a GV70 this summer and love it! it is amazing driving in the mountains. Last vehicle with AWD, we did not mount snow tires and I do not intend to repeat that this winter. Looking for suggestions for snow tires (Nokian? Pirelli? Michelin?).

Thanks in advance for any guidance you might offer. Mountain Special!

On two cars I put Nokia WRG3 I had one long hill on the way to work and passed many struggling cars with ease.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your brand new Genesis GV70! I'm glad you found us. :) What did the GV70 replace for you?

Also letting you know that this topic has been moved out of the community lounge and into the Genesis GV70 forum. :)

I won't be doing any mountain driving but will be running Michelin X-Ice Snow on dedicated winter wheels. That said you can drive yourself insane reading reviews and opinions. One good site is tyrereviews.com - yes the guy is a Brit but he does testing in both Europe and North America. There's also a winter tire thread in the wheel and tire section. Any winter tire from a reputable manufacturer will serve you better than all seasons. Good luck.

I have had excellent success with Bridgestone Blizzaks. I currently have a set for our 2020 Palisade and will be buying them for my GV70e within the next month. They provide excellent traction and wear very well. On my previous MB GLC43 I had a set that after 10,000 km, the tread had only decreased from 13/32" to about 11/32".

This doesn't cover all tires but this guy has the most in-depth tire reviews you will ever find. Go to his website to find even more tires he has tested in the past.

Two sets of Conti Viking Contact 7, including on my stock 19" wheels for my GV, and fantastic tire. Handle the snow and ice like champs. If not these, I would likely go with Hakkas R3...the absolute best at winter tires. Had the X-Ice once, and was not impressed in snowy conditions.

I have driven on Nokians for over 40 years in every kind of winter condition Canada can throw at me. Not about to change now! These are Fast Wheels style FC04, 19x8.5, gunmetal finish, with Nokian Hakkapeliitta 235/55R19 R5 SUV tires, same size as my stock tires. Just had them installed yesterday. (I have no idea why two of the pictures rotated.)

Looks good. I'm going with the same wheels in 20x8.5 ET35. Don't forget to peel the plastic coating off your centre caps ;)
