This is why many mfrs are moving to synthetic materials - they are much more durable. Leather doesn't age well. Of course, way too soon for this to be happening in your cars.

My seats look so bad on the sides and I'm only nearing 4k miles. Thats what we get for premium materials haha

Will after 12k miles the gray doesn’t show any signs of wear. Even where the piping wrinkles it’s fine.

Same seats and 9k miles, still look new. However I only drive the car part time and when I do, I'm usually wearing soft gym shorts or pants.

Is anyone else having trouble with the leather trim peeling on their sport seats. I had this problem a few months ago at 7,900 miles and the seat cover was repaired under warranty. Now I pulled the my garage out of the garage for some cleaning an noticed it is beginning again at 9,800 miles. Last time it grew to over an inch long.

I don't wear anything like chains, or a cell phone holster. I literally only carry my leather wallet, cloth cased phone and the Genesis key fob. I have gotten rid of ALL other keys. Is this happening to anyone else? I'm getting scared.

I have a 2020 G70 3.3 AWD with 10,000 Kl on it and I noticed the same thing happening to my drivers seat. I keep nothing in my pockets and have only put 10,000 KL ( 6,000 miles) in over a year. Dealer said it's under warranty, will have to wait and see. Montreal Canada

They re-covered mine and it's good as new!

Hi, yes I had this issue with 3000 miles and brought it to the dealer. They first just fixed it and it was good for a while but then it started to happen again and even more than before so I took the car back and they replaced the seat cover and now it's like new however, to avoid this from happening again, I purchased a third party seat cover and put it over my from seats. This issue is pretty much a design flaw on the seats.
Hope this helps. My Red G70 currently has 6000 miles.
