  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello everyone,

It’s been 16 months that I’m owning a GV70. As much as I initially loved this car and how it drives, from day one I had issues with dealerships and multiple issues with car. And now it’s been 4 months that my engine light is on and dealership made an appointment with me for 3.5 months later when my engine light cames on. And at the end they told me they can’t fix it.
Are you guys happy with dealerships services? Are you happy with the reliability of this brand? I’m 100% disappointed. I want to contact all the management and CEO directly. Is there anyone who had the similar issues? Let’s do something about this. Dealerships are the worst among all other brands, even cheap ones.

Shocking!

While reliability in general is reported to be better than many (ie. German brands), the shoddy GMA (Hyundai) dealer network and poor customer support from GMA is the BIG problem in the U.S. and why some have returned to true luxury marques.

I have had my GV70 for two years with no issue with dealer or car with the exception of the app. Will not update properly nor will it connect properly - great reception on iPhone but connected services is lousy.

Well yeah. I just joined to discuss about this. What’s wrong?
Nothing is wrong. A lot of forums get what they call trolls that will come in and bitch just to start trouble. The poster might have jumped to the conclusion that you were one of them.
Welcome to the group. My GV80 has been trouble free, and my dealer seems to be fine, but I have only gone in for yearly service. For some others, their cars and the service to get them repaired have been deplorable. I do assume that the deplorable ones are the exception and not the rule. There have been a lot of similar stories about real crappy service and dealers. I don't know where you are located, but do you have a different dealer you can go to? I am fortunate that I have 3 within a reasonable distance from me.

Good luck and I hope you find a solution.

why some have returned to true luxury marques.
You mean the true luxury marquees like Mercedes and Audi that are also below average or BMW that is barely above average in customer service. Which luxury brand are you referring to?

Yes Genesis is last, no one is questioning that. But what alternative are you suggesting?

My 2019 G70 has been very reliable so far (only 27k miles) with the exception of an exploding sunroof. That experience provided more confirmation that my dealer really doesn't know these vehicles and is not prepared to properly service them. Luckily my local independent auto glass repair shop was very familiar with the problem and did an excellent job of replacing the glass in a day. Genesis was no help at all. (The dealer and Genesis were telling me that the entire sunroof assembly needed to be replaced, at a cost of over $4,000, and that the windshield would probably need to be replaced in the process. They didn't seem to know for sure 🙄. And there were no sunroof assemblies available anywhere in the county, so they couldn't tell me how long it would be.)
So while my car has had very few issues, I have similar complaints as you regarding service and the dealer and Genesis. Luckily I do all my own maintenance, so I've not had to deal with them much. 🤞🤞
