  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello, I am a potential Equus owner, what are potential issues these cars have? I see there were issues with engines, is this something common?

I am cross shopping against an LS460.

Love my equus, its been really good to me and I plan on keeping it until the wheels fly off. It's decent on gas - I'm getting about 21mpg average. I rarely have it in sports mode...but when I do, its fun as heck to drive. It's a realllly quiet and smooth ride...however, most quietest rides always go to the Lexi.

I always get stopped and questioned what kind of car is that...and folks are always shocked its a Hyundai.
As far as availability and willingness to repair my vehicle (hampton roads, VA)...I'd stick with the LS460. LS460 is more popular and should be easy to find qualified folks to repair. There aren't many or any aftermarket performance parts for the Equus

I have the signature line - the ultimate model just has a few more bells and whistles like the 360 camera and Windshield HUD.

Thats just my take! Take a look at carcomplaints.com and browse the web. Tons of info there. And, of course, test drive the hell out of them both and see which suits you!
