Remote app distance limitation

I think I'm seeing a limitation on how far you can be from the car to give it commands with the app. I know it fails sometimes even close to the car, so it's hard to tell. If there is one, does anyone know what the distance limitation is?

I don’t believe there is any distance limitation. You could be on the other side of the continent. More than likely the fails you are getting are due to the internet signal at your phone and the cellular signal strength at your car.

Some time back someone posted they were traveling so left his Genesis for his mother to use. She would call him so he could remote start it from where he was, many miles away.

Well, I was on a long cruise and never even once got it to send images to my phone. When I got back home, it works. And the car was the same place it was during the cruise - in my carport in Texas. Now, it may be that the data service wasn't optimal in some of the ports on the cruise, but we were in Newfoundland part of the time, and it didn't work from there.
