  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Remote lock/unlock intermittent ?

I took my car down the street several houses and locked it and the fob worked fine. I then took it down to the other end of the street, locked it and the fob worked fine. I then brought it back to my driveway and again, if I don't point the fob directly over the roof of the car it doesn't work. Someone has to be running something close by that is interfering with the signal. As the fob still works with the small concession of me pointing it to a specific spot on the car, in one location, my driveway, I'll live with it. When it works in the morning, possibly what is running has been turned off.

When I visited my in-laws house over the holidays I had the same issue when I parked in their driveway. The only thing I could think of was the driveway was very steep. If I parked on the street next to the driveway (about 3 feet away), the remote worked fine. It was almost like the car being at a steep angle somehow kept the alarm from working far away.

I have the same problem with a genesis 2009. All batteries are good. The problem must be with the key signal receiver. Probably a bad solder joints.

I'm having the opposite problem. I have a 2010. New key batteries, car battery is good/new. When I try to use my fob it won't open the doors, after sitting through the night or longer, and 50% of the time it won't start the car. I then have to place it in the key ignition holder. After driving the car for a short while it all starts to work. Next morning it fails again. I've been thinking it's the receiver that's failing since the fobs appear to work, although intermittently. I'm now thinking (but have no proof) that it is the controller within the driver side door as I've been having an increase number of intermittent issues putting the windows up/down from the driver side control panel. All other features on the control panel appear to work. Did I hear someone say that the antenna is the door handle and the receiver is located in the door? What do you guys think? Thanks.
