If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone placed a remote starter on thier genesis yet & if so which brand was used, thank u

Hey all,

I'm interested in a remote start also.
Any news ????

tony

hey tonben r u a genesis owner also

I was told that this is NOT recommended for this type of vehicle... I think it goes for any Push Button Starting vehicle for whatever reason... I have always gone with http://www.astroflex.com/. Call around, I'm sure they will do it for the Genesis... I'll bet for a pretty penny! Why aren't their many OEM's offering Remote Starts for vehicles?

Can you give any indication as to why?

They said possible complication and price... Due to the amount of electronics and bypassing that goes into making it work, it may malfunction. It would be nice if Hyundai would just install it standard.

Can you give any indication as to why?

Installations shops have already done the 2009 nissan max & that has the keyless starter also so i know it can b done with no problems the dealer recommended a shop they deal with , he that shop told me they r just waiting for the bypass module to come out for the 2009 genesis & then they will b able to do it

Haven't heard back yet, but my dealer in Toronto, Canada, tells me Hyundai is working on a dealer-installed unit. I'm told it will be pricey ($CDN750+), but will replace the standard fob, so you don't have to carry two lumps.

I'll post if they tell me it's ready.

From everyone i talked to they said they are waiting for the bypass module for this car to come out then they can do it & the price im getting is around $350

Is this coming from Hyundai or aftermarket? I would really love the Hyundai version as it would probably replace the key fob! I don't need to be carrying around two key fobs!

Nissan/Infiniti owners are done this for 2 years now. Maybe search on their forum to see if anything pops up. You need a bypass module as people said before. It is possible to install it into your keyfob. So you would carry only one keyfob. Be prepaired, it is expensive so I heard.

Go with a really really good shop. You don't want to end up with a load of electrical problems. If Hyundai will come out with heir own it would be nice. all under warranty.

Cheers

Personally, I would only purchase this from Hyundai under warranty... Aftermarket, well good, just isn't the same as OEM.

Hi guys, waiting for my black on black 4.6 w/ Tech to arrive tonight. I really don't think I am going to do any mods to the car (maybe a trunk lip, or the genesis trunk embelem, but looks too much a Martin knockoff honestly) but I am definitely curious of the remote starter situation. Do we have any updates on the availability of the OEM or aftermarket starter?
