This is the back of the head unit on my 2009 Genesis 4.6L. Apparently the head unit connections are different on the 2009 than on later year models. This is the last cable I have to remove. To me, it looks like I need to loosen the T8 star bit in order to pull the connector out, but how the heck can I loosen the T8 screw with the connector itself in the way? I have a tiny T8 bit, but there's no room to get it in there without the connector interfering. What a DUMB design!!! If I try to angle the bit....the angle is too steep to get the bit to bite. Hmmmmm....maybe there is a really thin T8 screwdriver I could get.....As long as the screwdriver is very thin, the angle to clear the connector wouldn't be as steep.
Does somebody make an L-shaped T8 bit, with a very short leg on the L?
Am I even right in assuming I have to loosen the screen to remove the connector?
My fingers don't have much dexterity when it's in the 20s outside.
