  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My genesis g70 was flooded during a storm and the water covered the engine bay up to genesis emblem for almost 24 hours. The first thing that I did is to disconnect the battery and let the water dry out. While it is drying, I really appreciate your input on the maintenance option, I am focusing on repairing the car mainly to be drivable (engine, gear, steering and brake systems) with no need for added features or technologies.

My questions here are regarding the repair plan:
1- what part could be affected?
2- what should I do and do not?
3- How economical would it be?

All of your input is appreciated.

This is a total loss. Water in the engine and electronics causes immediate and long-term damage through corrosion. Repair costs will be astronomical and the car will never be reliable. Do not attempt to start it. Your only practical option is to file an insurance claim. They will declare it totaled.
