  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I found the bass lacking with the 14 speaker system..so I had the OEM speaker removed to vent the sound from an added 10' sub..

REALLY REALLY wished the car had an Eq with a dedicated sub channel but the result is a vast improvement over the OEM..

The box extends a little further then i would like but i still have full access to the battery and spare, reasoning I was told was space requirements for the sub...The amp is a kenwood and it's in front of the sub..I assume lol.. I havent looked

The car is WELL insulated, as i wouldnt know there was something in the trunk unless i cranked the bass up (i had the bass control knob placed in the armrest)

here are a few pics

The LC2i has a remote bass knob you can add.

yes, a picture above shows the bass control knob

LOL! I was wondering what that pic was supposed to be. :)

When I get back to the states I going to try another sub box, the one I have now is too much of everything, too much room and too much boom..Going to go for something very compact (hopefully can go on the left or right near the taillights so i can still have the full trunk

Im gonna hold out until i can find a Stereo Integrity BM MKIV or wait until the MKV is released. Gonna prolly do a nice small box under the rear deck (to replace the factory sub)

So whatg are you going to do if your OEM amp fries and they refuse to warranty it due to the aftermarket additions?

I'm either going to go with the lower profile bass port @ the very front, maybe attached to the corner of a seat since they don't fold, OR look into a custom made small box

my sub addition has nothing to do with the oem amp or speakers other than getting a remote on signal and getting the audio from what used to be the factory sub..

the factory amp output is no longer powering the rear channel which technically would mean the amp isn't working as hard as it was before the mod which makes the likelihood of what you're suggesting even less plausible, besides the warranty for the audio is only 3/36.

this is why i contract certain things out even though i'm very capable in completing the work.

Thank you for the reply. I just took my wifes 2015 Sonata in for service and I inquired with the service manager regarding the warranty. He said unless the aftermarket amp caused the issue it would not effect the warranty.

If there is any issue with the OEM amp or any stereo components however, the after market stuff will usually always get blamed.

I would like to add a little more bass to my R-Spec, but I do not want to lose the trunk area. Is there a sub that can slot into the factory location, that is a little stronger? Or perhaps a small bass tube?

yes, there are a few options, I had a pioneer sub sub in a box in my last car, took up very little room.. Go on crutchfield.com and look @ the powered bazoka tubes, thats most likely what i'm going to switch to (but un-powered)
