  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Howdy all and thanks.
2012 4.6 Sedan, 101,000 miles. Driving yesterday, battery indicator light came on, media screen, for a few seconds, shows the warning not to use media while the car is not running, power steering starts to go, abs, and all the other lights start to come on, I get to my destination, less than 2 miles of driving while this is happening. Shut down the car, won't restart without jumper box, and call roadside assistance. AAA checks the battery, says battery OK, it is the alternator. Flatbed to my local non-dealer repair shop, they diagnose the alternator, swap with new OEM alternator. Car starts right up, but all, or some of the dash lights are illuminated(haven't seen it myself yet, this is over the phone).

So, reprogram something or other? Or any other ideas? The dealership service department is closed until Monday, it would be nice to get the car running today(Saturday).

Thanks .
