  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I had a good smart key and a dead one (both original). I replaced the battery like it said in the manual + side up. It was still dead. I checked the good one and found the + side down.
I turned the battery over and it was still dead. I called the dealer and said he would reprogram it for $69.
I then started up the car with the good smartkey in the receptical, ejected it and placed the dead one in there, and it’s now programmed perfectly, and I still have the $69 on my wallet.
Please let me know if this works for you, or maybe even new keys. Dave Brook ab4zr1@gmail.com

Thanks for the reminder. One of mine has not been used for well over a year and don't recall when batteries have been replaced but long ago. I'll replace them tomorrow to avoid potential problems.

Garage door openers are also two years and only used one or twice but both went dead when I tried to use one. Had to reprogram them also, but it was free to do.
