  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Good day, I'm in the market for a used 2009-2010 Genesis Sedan and as much as I would like to get a Genesis sedan with OEM navigation, this option is pushing the price bit out of my price range.

As I gather information on the Genesis I come across this navigation product from "UNAVI" it seems to be a very comprehensive product from the youtube videos that I've seen

Anyone here have this particular product, and if so what ever feedback you can give would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure if "UNAVI" navigation is the one offered with the premium package, or the one with the knob and slightly larger screen. However, while I think the interface for finding information on my portable Garmin, entering addresses, routing, and displaying of street speed limits was better on the Garmin, the build in navigation offers a very convenient setup. You access the radio, backup camera, XM and phone features through it as well which makes it very convenient, not just for the navigation. So while I wish it was better, I would still get it because the screen is useful and looks good in the car for all the other things I mentioned.

I think the Garmin is a little more user friendly then the Genesis Nav but once you get used to it it is fine. I agree with kman, it's nice having all your electronics work through one system.

No UNAVI is not the OEM navigation offered by Hyundai, it's an aftermarket product designed for Hyundai vehicles. Since I'm looking for a genesis sedan but limiteded to a price I will be getting something without navigation. As I looked around I found the UNAVI product at www.carlighttrends.com, I know thats there a few members here who have this navigation and I'm wanting to know what they think about it.

I paid about $2500 extra to have a GPS system installed in the recently purchased 2010 Genesis Coup. I'm looking for feedback from other owners because I have not been satisfied with it. The short (about 30 pg pamphlet) that came with it, explains very little. I picked up the Genesis with the UNAVI X1, X2 installed on July 12. As of now, the UNAVI system is not working at all. When it did work, I found it too tedious to locate an address... it first asks for street (it searches for streets ... and lists all variation of the name, as Blvd., St. Ct., Dr. stc. then it lists that street name in all parts of the State!) you must then select the one you want (this could take time), then it allows you to give it the number or actual address, then it again searches... My phone GPS works faster!
When I turn on the UNAVI, it does not immediately identify it's location, or let you know that it is on.... sometimes it does not talk at all. I can go on listing more dissatisfaction with the system, but I want to hear from others. Am I missing something? What is so great about UNAVI? I had a GPS system in my 2008 Honda Civic... I liked it, and expected a newer version GPS to be better. I'm totally dissatisfied.
