  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I would like to reset the adaptive values for my trans so it can 'relearn' a more agressive driving style. Is there a way to do it without any kind of fancy scan tool? will unhooking the battery for a couple hours get it to reset?

unhook battery for say 10 minutes
Then drive it aggressively after.
OR
Simply start driving aggressively as is. It will learn or adapt very quick. At least I notice the 8 speed in my 2013 does

yea i've heard if you just drive it more aggresively it will learn over time but it'll take longer as it has to relearn over all it's previously learned values. My car is also an 09 so it has the ZF 6 speed.
