  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Okay, I love the full sound of HD FM from the Genesis, The surround sounds more full or complete. I can't seem to get the same sound quality from any other source (xm, ipod,)

Is this just the processing or is the source signal presenting more than a stereo feed?

Wiki explains it in full (easy search), but "Hybrid Digital" IS capable of 5.1 surround. Very few stations utilize it (according to my ears), but you may be lucky up there in the Great White North. I suspect it's the Lexicon processing a digital signal that's pleasing you though.

I'd suggest DVD-A as the richest source material to truly show off the surround capabilities of the car, but you're "veteran" enough to know that.

I think surround in any format is the least appreciated aspect of the Genesis, even by Hyundai. Enjoy!

Thanks, the problem is finding DVD-A sources... not a lot out there...... but I didn't know Hybrid HD is 5.1... I believe 104.1 here in MSP must be... Every time I drive thru the city I listen just for the sound quality..

If Xm/Sirus offered an HD (5.1) version of their server I would be willing to pay double what I pay for the poor quality I get now.

Check out my thread in this folder regarding the Mannheim Steamroller Christmas DVD-A available through Amazon for $11.99. It's a great way to show off the capabilities of the Lexicon system.
