  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Road or wind noise entering the cabin, might have a fix

It's definitely closed. Any suggestions?

You could try cleaning the tracks and/or trim where you hear the noise and put a light silicone based lubricant on it afterward. Someone can correct me but I don't think anything you'd be doing in that area will affect the warranty since I don't think anything in the sunroof is covered after a year anyway. Unless you have some sort of extended warranty. Plus it's not like you're dropping the transmission or anything. Just cleaning stuff up.

Wind noise can come from the tiniest of gaps.

Thank you so much for a detailed explanation! What's better to use to clean tracks? What lube would you recommend?

I use dish washing soap to clean with most times when cleaning seals. For lubricant I've always used Permatex Dielectric Grease (silicon). You can find it almost anywhere.

As far as the actual tracks go, I'm not sure what they use at the Factory to lube with.

Great! Thanks again! I'll keep you updated about changes.

Krytox 205 is also another good option, as it has lasted me over a year.

I've had my 2019 G80 for about two months. Love it. However, it's developed very loud wind/drag noise by the driver's side mirror, as describe above. Must get it fixed or it'll drive me nuts. Bourbonncigars what'd you use to clean the seals?

I believe I just used a rag with Dawn dish soap mixed with water.

Guys, sorry for my lack of understanding but which specific part of front door by the driver's side mirror I need to clean with Dawn dish soap mixed with water to fix the noise? Could any kind soul make a pic please of the specific area? :D

I can’t pinpoint the spot, but when I get north of 60mph, it sounds as if I’ve got my window cracked open. Driver side

After reading inputs on this issue, I agree that it’s not a mirror problem but a seal problem. Makes more sense and more likely jibes with the noise I get (“window cracked open”)

If fixed my noise by cleaning the seal where the top of the window sits when closed.

I had some noise around the driver's door when I first got the car... Turns out the leading front edge of driver's REAR door seal had come adrift. I I realized that I had been inadvertently rubbing against it when getting in & out.
