Ironically, the car that I want (5.0 Ibiza Blue base) is at a dealer in Dayton. I may have to fly up there. Which would be kind of crazy. It's a 12 hour drive home...
SD to Ohio is 17. You got it easy...
On the bright side, you’ll get acquainted with the car

I've been driving that route (I70, I74, I80) round-trip at least once every summer for the last 12 years. Some years it's been two or more trips. I know what you mean about the bugs. It seems like the worst part of the trip for bugs is between Peoria and the Iowa state line. And it seems to make no difference what time of the day or night one drives that stretch. The air is always full of bugs. I carry a bottle of Turtlewax Bug and Tar remover with me to clean them all off just as soon as I stop for the day. Some of the bugs are really big, too!
I know exactly what you’re talking about. Probably the last 3 miles in IL and the next 5 miles into Iowa. I understand because the Mississippi River is what’s dividing the states. I didn’t tape the front for the return trip which was a bad idea. I knew I was going to regret it. I stopped in Omaha and made sure I got the bugs off and again when I got into town. They came off with some elbow grease but the tape job would have saved some time and piece of mind.
