  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Rolling up/down windows remotely with key fob?

the time it takes to login to the app, wait, choose menu, choose options, type in PIN, wait for request to send... I'm halfway to the car... remote start over BlueLink is piss poor and a total $$ grab.

While not as easy as a FOB, it is not that time intensive. The time to login to app, chose menu, type pin and send is measured in seconds for me. Depending on your reason for remote starting, both offer different needs. The app does require more steps than a FOB, but the advantage is distance, which can be a factor depending on what you are trying to do. There is a benefit if doing more than pointing out your house window aiming to start the car.

one thing i don't like about the app...if the car sits for more than 4 days...the app won't start the car. a fob would ... :p :D

I don't think that is accurate. I came off a 7 day trip with my 2015 Genesis sitting in the parking lot. As I got my luggage, I started my car successfully with my app. No issue.

interesting...maybe hyundai has changed this. here is what it says in the bluelink directions from the myhyundai.com web site:

Remote start preconditions:
It has been less than 4 days since last vehicle ignition off
Ignition is off
Alarm is armed (i.e., vehicle locked by key fob, remote door lock)
Gearshift level is in the "P" (park) position
Brake pedal is not depressed
Engine hood is securely closed
All the doors are closed and locked
The tailgate or trunk lid is closed
The proximity key is not inside the vehicle
The battery power is not low
Vehicle is located in an open area

Probably not going to get remote CLOSE of windows, due to legal concerns. Had this on a few previous cars and truthfully, never used it aside from my M3 convertible, which could lower the hard top roof with key FOB.

What kind of legal concerns? Have there been accidents due to remote closing of windows?

Is it possible to program the key fob so you can roll up or down the windows remotely?
If you hold down the unlock button on your fob the windows will roll down. I can't figure out how to turn this feature off. I hit it by accident when it was in my pocket and came back to my car with the windows down.

This doesn't work on my 2015 Ultimate

My 2005 Acura TL did it like that...
