In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Hey guys,

seems like i'd have a very hard time transporting a few snowboards in a 2015 Genesis Sedan. the passthrough is too small, really wish it had fold down rear seats, but no luck there.

there is so little info on rood racks and the info conflicts.

this site (below) says it can hand this sweet thule aeroblade roof rack setup.

i know that the sunroof SIGNIFICANTLY reduces the load that roof can hold, but i've seen a few different roof rack manufacturers say that's rated for between 110 and 124 pounds, which is find for a few boards and gear.

Anyone tried this? or something similar? Anyone willing to try it if i subsidize their purchase? I am ready to buy a 2015 Genesis Sedan, but i need to know it can handle a decent roof rack.

Questions:
1) will that roof rack system actually attach?
2) will it prevent the sunroof from opening/closing?

THANKS!

Yakima makes a roof rack system for the Genesis. I am about to purchase one for transporting my mountain bikes as well as a cargo box. If you end up pulling the trigger please post and let us know how it fits and looks.

As expected, it sort of ruins the sleek look of the car - but I understand why you need it: Function over form in this case :)

Good news is it takes less than 5 minutes to remove it and none the wiser. To be honest, it does not look that bad however when you get the bikes on there I think I'll puke. :D

I think the rack adds a unique element to the car. While I do prefer the look of the car much better without it, its necessary given that I bike 3-4 times per week.

Thanks man! Some cars look better than others with roof racks on. I think the Genesis pulls it off well!

Looks alot better then I thought, congrats on the mod

And to answer the OPs question the sunroof can no longer be opened while the rack is installed

Are you taking it off and on as you need it? Also have you noticed alot of wind noise? I know my subaru impreza sounds like a wind tunnel with the roof rack on.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I leave it on all the time because of the frequency of use. There is wind noise but it's not bad with the fairing and tray design

THANKS! This information is very helpful! I'm about to go on a 30-day ski trip in Colorado with the Genesis and want to get a rack for bards and skis. Been struggling to decide which system to buy, I'm going to try the Thule aeroblades and see if they are raised enough to allow the sunroof to open. Also, if it interferes with the sunroof I'd like to figure out whether I can pull a fuse and disable the glass roof but not the shade.

I don't think Thule makes a roof rack system for our cars. Last time I checked they didn't at least. Just don't open the roof and you'll be fine. I never use mine anyway so it wasn't a huge loss.
