Been here awhile...
Hello all,
I never had any mechanical issues on my '09 Genesis before.
Left the car sitting for about a week, and when I fired her up last evening, the car shaked pretty bad with check engine light blinking.
As soon as I saw the blinking CEL, I turned her off. Turned her back up after few seconds and same thing but the CEL stopped blinking shortly after.
Decided to drive back home, but the car wasn't normal. Hesitation, vibration, etc.
When I got home after 5 minutes, however, everything seemed normal.
Took my car to the dealership this morning, still CEL on, and when I pulled in to the bay and tried to show the service manager the CEL..
.. of course it's gone. lol
The tech brought the diagnostic tool and pulled the DTC history - "misfire cyl 2"
He also found that there's a recall(or it might have been a TSB) for random misfires and corrective action was to reflash the ECM with the latest S/W.
It was done within 10 minutes and everything's fine now.
So if you haven't updated your ECM software, I recommend doing so on your next trip to the dealer.
