I just failed VA state inspection for a Right Rear shock. I would like to buy one and install it myself. I could not find any youtube videos for this repair and that surprised me.

Yeah it's pretty straight forward. Especially in the rear since its independent from the spring
 
Very easy to replace. Now maybe a good time to get COILS . :).
Just get a nice IMPACT GUN and remove the assembly.
 
never has it been the greatest of ideas to just replace one shock/strut. Generally doing them in pairs is more the rec. However if one failed I'd imagine the others would be soon to follow.

if you dont want coilovers and would like to stay OEM I am selling a set thats basically brand new off the car I just purchased.
