  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Can you guys give me the part number for the oem 5.0 rspec oil filter? And what sites have the best price?

Free oil changes are over and it's time to do it myself.

I would highly recommend that you purchase one from a Hyundai Dealer Parts Dept. They cost about $10. If you want to buy them in bulk, then there are some online dealers who sell them:

If you buy enough at one time, and some air and cabin filters, the shipping cost will offset that.

Yes, if you buy one filter at a time. If you buy 6 oil filters, 3 air filters, and 3cabin filters, all on the same order at the same time, the shipping cost is not a factor, and no sales is usually charged.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
No one seems to have addressed the CORRECT Filter! The 2015 Tau doesn't take a Mahle OX 351D (4" long)! It takes a Mahle OX 977 (2.7" long) I found out the hard way. Many sites list the OX 351D or PO 5848. They fit my 2011 Genesis just fine. The Dealer wants $18.00 for the correct one. I'm 74 and a former ASE Master Auto Tech and this is a Nightmare to change without a lift. Can anyone help me out to where other than a Dealer, I can buy the correct filter? I talked with K&N, they do not have a filter for the 2015 Tau. After many hours of research I found the correct filter # 26320-3F500 available @HyundaiOEMparts .com for $8.17! Jenkins Hyundai in Ocala FL wants $18.00+tax. List price is $10+change. They haven't gotten back to me for Dealership price for Oil & Filter Change.

This thread is about the 2012-2014 R-Spec, so that is why it is not the same filter as the 2015 Tau. There is no R-Spec sedan in 2015.

I would contact an online Hyundai parts dealer like Jim Ellis in Atlanta and get a quote. If you order multiple oil filters, air filters, and cabin filters all at same time, shipping cost is not too bad, and no state tax.

I was led to believe by a Filter cross-reference; that the 2014 5.0 R Spec filter and the 2015 5.0 were interchangable. This was not the only oil filter application mistakes I discovered!

Don't trust after-market application guides. Just get the OEM filter at a dealer. It is not that expensive. If they quote you too much, ask for a discount and 90% of the time you will get one (actually, it is not a discount, just not an inflated price).
