  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm considering trading my 2014 Genesis 3.8 for a 2014 Rspec. Will the 18" wheels from the 3.8 fit the Rspec. I don't like the Rspec wheels.

No. Brakes are much larger on the 5.0 R-spec.

2015+ ultimate wheels might.

Other than gaining maybe one second in 0-60 time, what would the RSPEC really give you that you don't already have now in your 3.8? Is paying the extra money and dumping the 3.8 really worth it?

I enjoy 100% of the time driving my RSPEC especially with the nice V8 sound from the dynomax VT mufflers. Having a more rare vehicle is of "value" to me. Now of course I am talking for myself...so who knows what the OP thinks! :)
I just went over 80,000 miles on mine last weekend.

When I test drove the Rspec I was not gobsmacked. The 3.8 actually feels more balanced. I owned a 2010 4.6 and it seemed quicker. Now that I have driven a 5.0 and the 3.8 with the 8 speed tran the 3.8 torque curve seems better suited. I would like to have the 5.0 with the German 6 speed. I would need another hour with rspec to know if I like the suspension more.
At this point the dealer likes the Rspec more than I do.

With regard to you wheel question. I had a 2012 Rspec and used 2009 18" OEM V8 wheels for my winter tires for 3 seasons without having any clearance issues. Used my stock 19's the rest of the year.
I also question the need for you to switch. It's great to have the buttery smooth power of the V8, BUT about the only place you can actually utilize it is at highway speeds. The over controlling nanny (traction control) is so intrusive any other time, it really isn't an advantage at all compared to your current car IMHO.

That being said, once I tried driving the 2015 V8 with H-track - I was sold. Finally, buttery smooth POWER and the ability to use it fully - not just at highway speeds...
