  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anybody have one of these and/or used them? Wife and I bought the Genesis last May and the finance manager tried to sell this to us. We declined, so he ended up selling it to us for $1. I specifically remember him saying something about scratch and dent coverage being included, and since we have some nicks, etc we thought we better get it fixed before the end of the 1 year period. Called SafeRide today because the "contract" we signed has very limited info about what is covered. A big portion of this is lost key replacement, which some of you know is around $500 a key. Supposedly I have lost key replacement, roadside assistance (which I already have AAA), tire and wheel coverage, windshield replacement, paintless scratch and dent, and like some BS hotel discounts or something.

Has anyone used them or have this extra warranty and filed a claim?

I don't understand this post. You got it for $1 so if you have any issues, you can at least call them and file a claim yourself. It would make more sense if you paid $500 for the warranty and they're refusing to payout a claim costing $100 even though it is stated in the contract.

???? I am asking if anyone has ever used them and purchased this additional warranty. I believe I asked twice in my original post? I noted that we purchased the warranty for only $1 because I thought it was funny that he tried to sell it as some "big deal", and was going to charge us close to $500 for it. So, when we declined, he says okay I'll give it to you for "free", but I have to charge $1. So yeah for $1 we were like what the hell, let's do it. At that point I didn't think that much of it and we finished the paperwork and got out of there.

I actually did call SafeRide to ask them what all was covered because in my paperwork there was nothing about scratch and dent repair and a few of the other things I listed. I've got some scratches I need them to look at before the warranty period ends on May 31st. The rep emailed two claim forms, one for scratches and one for dents.

I am really just wanting to know if anyone had purchased this type of warranty and submitted a claim. How did it go? Were they cooperative? Give you any trouble? Did a tech come out to your house or place of business for repair? That sort of thing.

This is SafeRide Motor Club. Not sure if "Motor Club" differentiates them from the other Safe Ride companies you linked?

Anyhow, I'm going to give it a shot and see what happens. Supposedly they try their best to send a mobile tech out to fix scratches and dents, of course those not caused by collisions, etc.
