  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

In the mail to-day, direct from Hyundai -> An Envelope Marked Safety Recall..
The letter within stated I needed a -> Brake Switch Replacement.
IT DID NOT MENTION ANY SPECIFIC VEHICLE, just Recall Notice 110..
--->Damn Stupid<--
As it's my last day Off for 2 weeks, I was about to drive to my dealers (100 mile round trip) Stop I thought, and call them to make sure they have the New/Replacement switch in the Stores..
According to the Service guy there is NO repeat NO Safety Recall on my Genesis..So I called "H" direct, they seemed at a loss as to why I received this notice..They verified there are NO recalls on my model/year Genesis..
:mad::mad::mad::mad:

What makes you think the notice came from Hyundai Motor America? Is this your first car? Have you ever received junk mail? Your car purchase is a matter of public record and many advertisers get your info from the state.

My call to Hyundai confirmed it was sent direct from Hyundai..........
The "G" is my 7th Hyundai.......Last "H" was sold June2012......
Thank you for your helpful comments............

So Hyundai Motor America said when you called them that the recall was valid for another Hyundai vehicle, but not for your Genesis sedan? I don't understand.

Neither Do I..
The letter referred to Recall 110..........Go Figure.....
Somewhere Someone needs a replacement Brake Light Switch......;)

Notice is for the coupe. I got the notice but haven't acted on it yet. I drive a coupe. My wife drives the sedan.

No VIN on the notice?

No.. it was just a Recall generic letter.. Confirmed as genuine by Hyundai.

Google search is your friend:

Must have been mailed for one of your earlier Hyundais.

Correct. The brake switch was replaced for my Sonata (reverse light was randomly coming while driving) and also my Elantra (ESC light was coming on intermittently when ESC was not actually disabled). Apparently Hyundai has faulty brake switches for many vehicles (probably why the notice is generic) that cause a variety of symptoms.

I got the letter yesterday too. If you go to the site mentioned in the letter and enter your VIN it will tell you whether you have a recall or not. The Genny did not.

This letter looks more like a marketing ploy than anything else as on the right hand side it has "coupons" good towards the purchase of another Hyundai.
