I made this comment elsewhere before. While most compact luxury sedans these days compromise for comfort these days, there are significant differences in performance between the TLX and the rest of the competitors especially when trying to get the best bang for your buck. The TLX is 9" longer than other compact luxury sedans, ~500 lbs heavier than RWD competitors, and 300-400 lbs heavier than the AWD versions and the Audi A4. The TLX gets 0-60 MPH in 6-7 seconds, while the German 4 cylinders do it in 5.2 seconds. You can't just write off these differences by saying other sport sedans are compromised too.

Not to mention that despite its size and weight, the cabin is just as cramped as any other compact sedan like the G70. So it's no more usable than a G70 despite being the size of a 5 Series. It combines the worst attributes of a compact car (space) and a midsize one (weight). For some reason, neither Mark or Jack brought up this issue even though it's the Achilles heel of the TLX.

he's not wrong about the depreciation, but you better buy a Lexus if that is a major factor for you.
