ARC, I have shifted gears in the vibration area and it stays the same. Also, I get the vibration at stops but much more subtle. I can feel it the wheel. Much worse right after sitting and is completely cold. I can also tell as soon as I start my car if it will vibrate at 27-29 MPH because I can already feel the vibration in the wheel from the converter.
But while you are playing around, try this, Find a very steep incline, like coming out of some parking area or a steep hill and come to a stop and see if you notice a distinct increase in vibration. I still believe its converter because its a fluid thing I think. I can get the vibration while stopped on a steep incline many times but not every time.
Ryan, yes, I get the highway issues also and even have told my wife to hold the wheel so she can feel it, in several miles it will just go away and I have her check it again and its really distinct in the difference in character. Could be the shaft, but I just don't lean that way because I cannot figure out how it would come and go or explain my issues sometimes even while stopped.
I will say this, they reset my transmission and I do get much less frequency now but still present, still random and can be fine for a day and then horrible the next.
Just my observations to see if anyone else can reproduce any of this.
