  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Is the header message "Help! We're under attack!" under notices a scam?

I sent five bucks

Paypal shows the recipient is something called "Wellness Package ebooks"

Google "Wellness Package ebooks"

It tied back to www.clubfreestyle.com

I would be careful calling it a scam at this point.

It is a peculiar means of asking. I certainly don't mind helping but I need more. If the site is under attack, it's possible someone could have hijacked it.

Whois on:
genesisowners.com => Registrant Organization: Madison Ross Media Group
ClubFreestyle.com => Registrant Org: Madison Ross Media Group

If it is a scam, it is sophisticated

It all ties back to Sal, ask him.

I tried to send some money but it kept crashing and wouldn't let me.....

Consider yourself lucky - this is getting just a little bit weird.

I'm not sending any money. I paid to be a supporting member, that is all I will do. If the site is under attach it is not on us but the ones who set up and manage the site. We need Hyundai Genesis (Sal) to chime in on this. I have noticed he has been commenting a lot more the past few weeks compared to the last year. The whole banner thing asking for money seems odd.

Hey, everyone. Sorry about that! Initially the button for payment wasn't working. I'm not sure why there was an issue but I changed it to an HTML web page and now it's working properly. This kind of thing (us being under attack) happens frequently throughout the year. This site is on a dedicated server so the responsibility is mine to take care of issues like this.

Normally that's no problem but I'm currently not in the right financial situation to be putting out more money than usual to fend off this attack. I'm on a "budget" and this is outside my comfort zone at the moment. So, I'm asking for a little help for anyone who can afford to do so.

Anyone who's already supporting the site is GREATLY appreciated and not expected to do any more. In fact, I really don't "expect" anyone to help. When all is said and done - it is solely MY responsibility to keep this site up and running. Unfortunately, we all come upon times when an additional financial burden is a little more than one can handle. I'll get through it. But, if anyone is in the position to provide a little assistance, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you... And I apologize for the confusion...

Thank you very much. I appreciate the assistance!

Great -- I'll send more

But - what does "Wellness and ebooks" have to do with it.

And what really is the problem?

I write self-help guides related to health and that's what "Wellness Package eBooks" is about. I started "Madison Ross Media Group" (which is basically me and my websites) long afterwards...

If you look up Madison Ross Media Group, some of their sites do sell health and fitness products. They probably used the same PayPal account they already have for these products instead of setting up a separate one just for this site.

Right. Exactly. I don't want to have too many PayPal accounts. I already have two as it is and I just happened to choose the one that I use more actively to process these payments...

Are the attacks the reason why my subd emails are just the same generic email instead of showing what the comment was from the subd thread??

No, that's a different issue that had to do with an upgrade with a corrupted "language" file. That's on the to do list but I need to get this other issue fixed first...

Sent help and thanks for the site and keeping it up.
