  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I had the transmission replaced in my 2015 5.0 Genesis. They sent it to. Hyundai dealership to do the computer synchronization with the new tranny. It came back with oversensitive SCC issues. We sent it back, and their fix helped a little. Now 3 months later it has become more sensitive with the sensor alarm going off regularly when not needed. At this point, I just want to turn off the system. Is that another dealer visit or is their a DIY fix to shut it off?

what is the behavior? Kicking out of cruise? Not getting distance right (or inconsistent)? Warning of pending colision? just dash alarms?

Mine went funky at about 40K, had to be replaced under warranty. It was also out of alignment due to a prior parking lot bump that cracked the grille. My symptom was that sometimes when I tried to start cruise, it would say "conditions not met". Other times it would flash a dash alarm that the radar was not working. It also didn't warn of pending collision correctly, often going off too late. now that it's fixed, the collision warning is right where I think it should be (a little more sensitive). Cruise distance is dead on, though it was on the faulty radar too. Now it just no longer kicks out.

Sensor failure seems to be a thing with these. Alignment issues are also possible. I think the sensor is in the $700 price range.

Thanks. My issue is that the sensor alarm sounds at random times regardless of proximity with other vehicles. I wonder if it is an alignment issue. I will suck it up and take to dealer. Appreciate yourself help!

That does not sound like the SCC. That sounds like the parking assist, which uses different (ultrasonic) sensors than the SCC (radar).

Does it only sound when you are stopped at a light?

when you say regardless of the proximity, does it sound when there are absolutely now vehicles anywhere within you sight?

if you are in your driveway either in park or in drive with autohold, does it ever sound?

just trying to help isolate the problem

That is not the SCC. It is either parking sensors or the emergency braking system. What do you see when it goes off?

The SCC radar error I got was from the failing radar sensor. That system is different from parking lot sensors. It will say "radar" in the error message if it's the SCC radar, parking sensors are ultrasonic. There is an alignment procedure. Mine was realigned and still was wonky so they had to replace the sensor.
