  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I took proud ownership of a 2015 Ultimate in Ibiza Blue, last Monday. Loving the car every second. One quick question. My wife has a 2015 Sonata Limited. The front sensor on the grill is displaying vertical scratch marks. She doesn't drive it hard, just about 40 miles daily as a commuter. The only thing I can think of is maybe the car wash we use. I want to keep my Genesis as clean as possible, and plan on doing it myself as much as possible, but sometimes a car wash is the most convenient. Anybody had this issue? How would you go about protecting the finish of the sensor from scratches?

Any feedback is appreciated.

Thx

I haven't had this issue... Don't know if a protective film would effect it's performance or not.

Congrats on your Blue Baby BTW.

The sensor panel you see is just a transparent protective cover. The sensor sits further back. I polished mine and applied a scrap piece of paint protection film a detailer gave me. Turned out great and helps against minor rock chips/scratches since it's self healing.

Thank you all for answering my question. I have received several compliments on my baby blue already!! Really glad I pulled the trigger on this deal.
