  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

When I start my genesis I have to press the seat assignment three times to get the steering wheel to the correct position. Doesn't matter if it is on 1 or 2, it has the same issue. Any thought?

There are some quirky yet logical electrical operations with the Genesis. The manual isn't clear or sometimes silent on these quirks. I find that if I'm in a hurry and I shift and move in reverse before the steering wheel moves to its saved position it will stop short and I may have to "reset" it operate correctly. I've done something with the kiddy overide button while the car is moving and the window controls stops working..again corrected by shutting the car off. I've discovered about four issues/quirks that once understood operate predicatebly and consistently. The manual either dosen't mention this stuff or when described the manual does a poor job of explaining.

I just thus out by waiting for te car to shutdown completely and start the car up without shifting it to drive mode. Still does the same thing, always after 3 click.

What year is your Genny?
Mine is a 2009 and in order to get the telescope part right, I have to press it 2-3 times as well. At least it is working. :p
No problem with the tilt though in my case, unlike may here who have had many parts replaced because of this ongoing tilt/telescope issue.

it is an early build 2010 4.6, I got pissed and disabled the steering easy access. It is holding it in place correctly now.

Something really weird happened the other day. This is a first. I had turned the car off, the wheel retracted as it should, and I leaned over to pick up something that had fallen off the passenger seat. Both the wheel and the seat returned to the driving position, just as they would when I press the "1" button, which of course doesn't work when the car is off. All I can think of is I pressed some unlikely combination of buttons on the key fob, which was in my pocket, and produced this unexpected result.
