  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have noticed that my seat fans (hot or cold) are quite loud to the point I can hear them easily when they are on anything but low. Has anyone else noticed this? I believe the passenger's seat is a bit louder than the driver's. I am wondering if this is something I should get checked out or 'normal'. It is not distracting but annoying nonetheless.

Surprising! I have never heard my fans running in over 7500 summer and winter miles.

Same here, never heard them even with AV etc turned off.

Ditto...no noise whatsoever. Definitely get it checked out.

I wouldn't call it loud and would likely have never noticed it if you had not posted - but, with the AV system off, I can definitely hear the fan from the seats if I listen for it (with both cooled and heated settings). However, with the radio/music/climate control on (always the case for me), it's not really noticeable.

Agreed - with the stereo on or windows/sunroof open, you don't notice. But without those on, it is noticeable. Worth getting looked at.

Yes, it is noticeable. Same thing happened in my 2012 Genesis 4.6 (I now have a '15). It isn't necessarily loud as much as it is annoying if radio is not on. It goes down at the mid setting. I haven't been in any other cars with ventilated seats, so I have nothing to compare it to.

I guess I'm fortunate. I tried mine today stopped, at idle, with audio off, and could not hear either the passenger or the driver fan running. The seats cool and heat properly, so I guess I just have quiet fans.

More likely that your hearing is not sensitive in that range... It's not motor noise, it's airflow noise so it's based on fan blade design and speed - and therefore one would not expect much variation fan to fan!
