If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey guys. I just bought a 2010 4.6. So far i love it, but It does have a couple of glitches. The driver side seat heater/cool switch will come on for a few seconds and then go off. I read some earlier post about the switch flashing but not this condition. Does anyone have any ideas for a fix? Thanks.

So no one has had any issues with driver side seat heat heaters/switches?

It's probably going to be an issue with the seat heater and not the switch. Usually when it cuts off after a few seconds it's due to some sort of malfunction

Thank you for the response. That makes a lot sense. I was hoping someone else had experienced this issue and knew how to fix it or how much the dealer charged to repair it.

I have the same problem on my 2010 Genesis Sedan 3.8L. Had the dealer look at it - fix dealer claimed is $1400 - root cause according to dealer is non-functioning sensor. Dealer says sensor is not replaceable ... the complete seat/back heating element has to be replaced.

Ebay the part (seat bottom or back, whichever) it and have an auto-upholsterer do it. $500ish all in.

that's a good idea; will look into that. Thanks.

I've read that there's a kind of redneck engineered fix using three springs relating to some air flow tubes which get pinched but I haven't been able to find anyone that knows what springs to get or where and how to install them. My seat started cutting out when on high but if I leave it in the lowest position it will keep heating. I don't normally need it to get super hot, but it does get cold here in the winter and this year it's supposed to be worse than normal.

I had this issue with my driver seat switch. The switch shorted out or failed. Replaced under warranty at the dealer and no issues since it was fixed.
