Re: Sema Debut of the DH Carbon-fiber diffuser.. New Company IIV22(822) New PICS
Both of you seem to be missing the point. You have a "manufacturer" come on the site to alert to a specific product, one low resolution photo which may or may not be indicative of the final product, and then directives to divert open discussion to private off-site resources. I shouldn't have to care about his instagram, if that's how he decides to promote his business, or attempt to have to figure out how to find him on instagram. If he comes on to the site advertising a (as yet unknown, unpriced, and undisplayed final product) diffuser, he should be open to free discussion, openly and on said site he is lazily promoting on, and examination of a VERY niche product. This wasn't a problem in the late 90s with new and wildly innovative Honda products (and some of those very companies are around today doing gangbusters business), so why should I have to take it to PM or more specifically, offsite, to get more info. That's not transparent or trustworthy.
Sorry you two feel this is harsh, but I shouldn't have to advise the poster offsite or in private how to conduct effective business practices. As a community, we are rabid for new and interesting products. This is not the way to promote them. Bottom line, This can be turned around in an instant, but it is up to Dat5.0GenLyfe2016 (a name alone ANY atty would have advised against in terms of brand recognition or brand stability) to change that.
This is just my 2 cents, there will always be ppl who just click and buy, how broad you choose to make your business is up to you. With that, I will no longer comment on this thread. You are free of me.

I lied, I couldn't leave this alone. "When you have to ask for pricing via private message it allows the producer to know who is truly interested in the product and now they have direct contact with them to get the info out quicker!" No. Not at all. I participated in NUMEROUS GBs many years ago. They were public, they were straightforward, and there were always ppl who backed out. I got left high and dry paying full price on new products released in that fashion, but they were products that the creators proved were worthwhile. None of it was ever in private. THAT inspires confidence in actually getting the product you payed for. Doing it in private reeks of pressure point sales, but again, I'm not here to tell you what works, history already should have.
