serious safety issue with '09 Genesis

I have owned a Genesis since late 2008. I love the car but I am encountering a serious performance/safety issue with the car. Anytime I drive the car on a highway for longer than approximately 90 minutes the car will slow without notice from highway speed to approximately 35 mph. The emission light illuminates on the dashboard. This has happened several times and I have brought it to the dealer for repair three times. Has anyone experienced/heard of an issue similar to this? It's extremely dangerous when the car decelerates on the highway.

while I haven't had this issue I know any modern car "depowers" if there is a major mechanical issue which you are experiencing..
I would return to the dealer and force them to address the issue... If it really only happens after 90 minutes of highway driving... Take the shop manager for a long drive (offer to buy lunch if you need to)...

1. You've brought it to the dealer for repair 3 times, what did the dealer "fix"? What did the code say?

2. If they were unable to figure out the problem, did they escalate it to Hyundai or just send you on your way?

3. How many miles on the car now, and at what mileage did this first happen?

What you are describing is indeed a very serious safety issue and the chances of being rear-ended in those circumstances are real. If you haven't already contact Hyundai USA and if you get no cooperation there call the NHTSA. http://www.nhtsa.gov/
I would then take your car to the dealership, insist that they find and fix the problem and demand an equivalent loaner.
