  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Although I still have a lot of time left on my free one year of XM service, I was reading in ripoffreport.com about problems with customers not being able to unsubscribe once they have subscribed, plus other customer service problems. Also stated that XM customer reps were "off shore" reps, who can't speak English well, and customers can't understand them.

With previous vehicles, or even home XM radios, has anyone here ever had problems with their customer service (or customer no-service)??

No. When I canceled after my 2006 Passat lease was up there was no hassle at all. Service and billing were prorated to the day/penny.
As for accents, I had no problems communicating. I'm just glad he wasn't from southern USA!

I renewed my XM a couple of months ago (one year free was up). I had to speak to several people because the signal had to be sent and resent several times. I did not have any problems understanding them. The price they charged (I don't remember the exact amount) was considerably more than the quoted price. They added several extra charges. I called and they reversed several charges but the fact that they tried to sneek in the extra charges did not sit well. Also, I tried to get them to combine the XM account with a Serius account (they merged quite some time ago). You get a discount for the second radio on both an XM account and a Sirius account. I was told they could not merge the accounts because their computers had not been merged "yet". I tried calling Serius and was told the same thing.
