  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

It's time for me to replace the belt on my 2011 4.6 , looks like I need to remove the airbox tube and a few things to get to the belt...do we have a self adjusting belt tensioner that all I need is a breaker bar and socket to slide the belt off? Or do I need to loosen up the AC or alternator to slide the belt off? Thanks in advance

I bought a serp belt a while back, but just haven't remembered to get it out of my trunk and slap it on. I will get it replaced next month and I would believe that a breaker bar to release the tension should be all that's needed. Hopefully the belt is accessible which should make for an easy change.

As I said it looks like after removing airbox tube and the baffle or at least that's what I think it's called I should be able to access it, might have to remove the plastic shield under the engine to get to the bottom pullys

Before you install it, get some 303 and soak it overnight. I started watching a YouTube channel that gives tips to keep maintenance costs down and that was one of the things he said. He also has another video for using the 303 on tires both inside and outside (outside every three months and let it dry overnight). A customer of his did this and had 60k mile tires last over 200k miles. Sweet Project Cars is the channel if anyone is interested.

So you spray this on tires and the tread will last over three times as long? Yeah, I can see that. I've been using olive oil and only get twice the miles. I'm switching.

Organic coconut oil works better than olive oil, and it makes your road noise sound like an ocean breeze!
