If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Good Day Everyone.

I Bought A New Hyundai Genesis Last July. I Have Had A Problem With My Dealership Since December The Concern Was With The Tire Rotation. I Have Ask Each Time They Have Change My OIL To Rotate My Tires And To Do A Front End Alignment On My Genesis And They Would Never Do It. I Was Told Last Month They Would Do all Of This At My 15,000 Miles Service Visit. Well This Past Saturday I Took My CAR to Sears Auto Center And I Was Told That I Need A Full Set Of Car Tires Because Of The No Tire Rotation I Got Mad And Call Hyundai And Told Them The Story Long Story Short I Took The Car To Another Hyundai Dealer And They Said The Same Thing The Hyundai Car Has 13,000 Miles And I need A New Set . Hyundai Said That They Are Going To Try And Make The Dealership Replace The Tire At No cost To Me Since They Said In There Own Words That They Would Not Do The Tire Work On My Car Or If They Would Not That I Would Just Need To Buy Them And They Would send Me A Check For The Tires. Has Anyone Had A problem Like THis And Also What Brand Of Tire Should I Put On The Car. BTW the Tire Has To Come From The Dealership ..

Maybe if one cap at the beginning of a sentence is good, a cap at the beginning of each word is even better?? Or, MaybE A CaP At ThE BeginninG AnD EnD Of EacH WorD Is MorE StylisH?? oR, bY thE samE tokeN, hoW abouT A caP aT thE END oF eacH worD??

I rotate and balance my tires at every 5000 miles. I learned a long time ago about this the hard way.

Found out on a sports car I had built. At about 5000 miles, I'd get a vibration from the tires being just a little out of balance. So rotate and balance at every 5000 miles is now my norm.

Not sure why a dealer would not perform the work requested unless they were just too lazy. Sounds like time to find a new service department.

15000 miles and only one tire rotation... my tires are fine, normal wear.

That made me laugh..

i have a sister who writes in all lower case she uses no punctuation her emails are a bear to read she gets upset when i make comments about it to her she never changes her ways

In all seriousness, though, I rotate on every oil change and I give the treads a good look before I put the wheels back on. If I see an unusual wear pattern, I have the alignment and balance checked. Otherwise, if the tread wear is even, I just rotate them.

If you drive "gently", are not carrying sacks of cement in your trunk, and your alignment and balance are good, there should not be a significant issue with your tire wear at 13,000 even if you did not rotate your tires. If your tires were "trashed" at 13,000 miles, you probably had an alignment issue, or you were driving around town like Kyle Petty.

As for your dealer not rotating the tires at a normal service interval, that's UNSAT. A competent mechanic could rotate the tires in the time it takes for the oil pan to drain out. There's no excuse for not doing it. I'd find a new dealership. If another is not available, I'd go find a good mechanic. You are not required to have scheduled maintenance performed by the dealership.

I just thought i would post an update on this story. after two weeks dealing with the Hyundai dealership and being told they would not pay for anything" tires" reason behind it it is there company policy that they do not rotate tires until 15,000 miles . i then place a phone call to Genesis connect and i was told the same thing when they had call the service dept. long story short Hyundai region manager got my case and went to work and this is a copy of what happen:

Martha, I spoke with Mr. Pope regarding the tires wearing abnormally on his new Genesis and offered to replace them as a goodwill repair. Long story, but I don’t think his local dealer handled the situation very well in the beginning and led up to the tires being ruined in less than 13,000 miles. Lets re

place all 4 tires and perform an alignment to ensure he gets the performance and life out of the tires he deserves. I advised the customer to contact you directly at to ensure the tires have arrived and schedule an appointment. Lets schedule accordingly and provide a loaner vehicle while his vehicle is in for repairs.

Now that's customer service. Seems Hyundai is beginning to understand what Luxery car buyers expect.

The real answer to this question is that VBulletin is smart enough to see when a post is in ALL CAPS and reduces it so only the first letter is in caps. Typical fix for if people are typing with caps lock on.

As to the tires, there are tons of tire threads here. Personally, I have 30,000 mile tires on my car now (they're 18's) and I love them.

Get the dealer to pay for that stuff!

Return of tire problem:

some might know of the problem that i have with my Genesis 4.6. the problem lead to having all 4 tires replace at 14,000 miles. at that time Hyundai Motors Paid for the replacement. for about 3 weeks i have been noticing that i could hear a lot of road noise. as i was cleaning my car i put my hands on the rear tire and i notice that the tire have Again has premature tire wear on them.. so i wrote down the miles and called my dealer and the Hyundai DPM. and they all said bring the car back .. the time since the last tire replacement to this date is only 3,555 miles. and if i go by the owners manual it calls for every 7,500 miles for tire rotation has anyone else had this problem? or know of someone

hunter road force balance...
in addition to a CORRECT alignment....
Otherwise it could be the independent suspension has a manufacturing defect or failure.

good luck !

If you have the OE Dunlop tires, almost all of us have had this problem to one degree or another. It will not do any good unless you switch to a better tire. The Michelin tires on the 2012 models (except base model) are pretty good, or read about other tires that members have purchased to replace their OE Dunlops.

I had no problems with the Dunlops but had major issues with the Conti DWS. I bought them based on the positive coronets on this web site. My 2010 pulled to the right. Swapping tires front to back never fixed it. The Dunlops always tracked true.

Continental replaced the DWS with General GMax. What a positive difference. Tracked true and drives as if planted to the road.

I have thought about this when Hyundai had replace my car tires the last time.should i just trash these and pay out of pocket or try to get Hyundai to buy them? i have no problem paying for them. but if the problem is with the car and not the tires i don't want to throw money down the drain.. and till this very day i still have a pull to the left when driving..
