  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Sr. Group Manager Genesis Owner Experience

Received a thank you from Deitz above after getting my G80 Sports serviced last week. The ONLY reason I mention this is I had my service done by a Hyundai dealer that I bought my vehicle from who is not a new Geneisis dealer. I understood the service manager to say they would do the free service, but they wouldn't notify Hyundai/Genesis about my service being done.

Apparently I didn't understand the service manager. They did give me a free loaner though. I will be doing future service from a "Geneis" dealer that's only about a couple of miles further away from my home.

Don't understand why Genesis didn't select a Genesis dealer in Belevue Washington where ALL the upscale car dealer are located (Porsche, Audi, Range Rover, Luxus, Infinity, etc, etc).

Genesis can't force a dealer to stay a Genesis dealer. It's up to the dealer. Obviously, that dealer didn't feel it would be worth it to invest the money to stay with Genesis.

You don't get selected, you ave to want to become a dealer. Perhaps no one wanted to be a dealer there.

It is a tough transition to be a Genesis only dealer. They have three great sedans, but the SUVs are not here yet. I bet some of the new dealers will bail in a year or two unless sales jump soon.

not sure I understand.

dropped my G80 at a Hyundai dealer today who I've used several times in the past, I scheduled the appointment last week and they had a loaner waiting for me. no fuss no muss.

I asked if they were going to be a Genesis dealer and they said no, but that they were authorized to service 2017 and 2018 Genesis vehicles, but not anything 2019 or newer.

They are doing scheduled maintenance as well as some major warranty work for 4 issues I have, didn't question it at all.

I think a lot of the problem is miscommunication and misunderstanding from both the dealerships and the customers. I like this dealership for service, they have always been helpful. No so much for sales though, it's amusing tome that my car is actually from them, and was dealer traded by another dealer that gave me the a better deal than they offered.
