  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I took my 2016 Genesis Ultimate h-trac in for it's second oil change & tire rotation at my local Hyundai dealership. I also told the service advisor to change my wiper blades. So three things were to be done, oil change, tire rotation and new wiper blades. They were very friendly and said it would be an hour wait. Which was fine, after a hour and forty five minutes passed he said you're car is ready. I said great and paid my $103.00 bill. I go out to inspect my car and it has wipers that belong on an accent. (The old metal kind, not even close to the nicer ones from the factory). They had grease prints all over my windshield, didn't wash or vacuum my car. So I told the service advisor these won't work, they look extremely cheap and out of place. He said we'll order you the original ones please come back but they'll be another 10 bucks. I had already paid $30.00 for the cheap ones. So I said okay, I'll see you next week. I get home to verify they had changed my oil and found trash and a screw driver still under my hood. I had an Acura TLX prior to this car and the service with Acura was great! This Genesis stickers for $53,000 bucks and I received poor service. Guess I'll be trying another Hyundai dealership. Oh, and lastly they didn't reset my maintenance reminder nor put a sticker on the windshield. Makes me wonder if they even changed my filter. They also don't provide loaners. Current mileage is 6,000 miles on my Genesis.

Go in and speak with the service manager. That kind of service wouldn't fly at my dealership.

The term "service quality" is an oxymoron when talking about most Hyundai dealerships.

Sounds like good front end staff with poor workmanship in the shop. I must say, my dealership is generally pretty top notch and open about charges and the like up front. They also provide loaners if the car is to be in for more than a full day (usually a sonata or the like, but I don't mind the downgrade for a couple of days if the car is not going to be in for a super long time). On my last car (2011 Genesis Coupe), I had so much warranty work done on it that the dealership almost paid for the car in parts. Last going off the car had a gearbox replaced and it arrived within 3 days and was installed within 2 days of arrival.

Haven't had any trouble with the sedan; but oil changes, tire changes and brake services are all done within a couple of hours, and the car comes out vacuumed and with an automated wash coupon. Staff is friendly, and the garage guys are always willing to help. On top, my Sales Rep and the Sales Manager were superb with the sale last year. If this car holds up better than my last Hyundai (This is the second chance vehicle for durability), I'll likely have another Hyundai or Genesis vehicle in my garage.

You live in Canada, and from what I understand there is very little discounting of selling prices in Canada. That enables dealers to have superior service because they make enough money on the original sale to pay for quality service (unlike most USA dealers).

I got $10k off my car. Not sure where you're getting that from. Hahaha. Most Chevrolet dealers up here discount pickups and midsize sedans by $5k - $15k. Lots of deals to be had in the great white north. :p

Someone on this forum claimed that Hyundai Canada does not let dealers discount prices (unless newer models are released), but apparently that is wrong and I stand corrected.
