  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2009 V6.
When changing out the brake rotors I would assume to also replace with new set screws. New screws were not included with my EBC rotors so I have to get new ones. Can I go to the local auto parts store or to the dealership or are they a universal part? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Set screws are primarily only needed during initial vehicle assembly, as a rotor falling off and striking a worker is typically frowned upon.

They are reusable and I do not tighten mine down, makes it much easier to remove the next time, as the wheel and lugs will perform the same function.

Since they're only "convenience screws", I would use anything available that fits.

I'm assuming you trashed the old ones getting them out.

Be sure to coat the new ones in lithium grease. Then they don't seize and you can get them out easily enough when you put on your next set of rotors. Don't worry - the rim holds them on - they aren't gonna vibrate out. :)
