  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This morning while driving to work I started getting a lot of “check…” warnings on my dashboard for many different aspects of the car (it’s an ev gv70). Check headlights, check turn signals, check seat belts, check back seat, check forward collision, check lane change assist, etc. etc. They pop up in rapid succession, clear for several minutes, then some come back, then others come back later. It’s a constant barrage of “check…” messages while driving.

Driving home my turn signals stopped working, the steering wheel controls stopped working, and when I got home I couldn’t open my trunk because the trunk button wasn’t working, I couldn’t lock my car because the key fob stopped working. I messed around turning the car on and off, and then eventually it all started working again. I still have all the check messages on my dash though.

I’m already taking it into the dealer for something else tomorrow, so conveniently they can now look at this.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Did the dealer fix it?

It’s still at the dealer. I asked today and they still don’t know what’s wrong. I’m guessing they haven’t started looking yet.

By the time I got it to the dealer all the controls on the door armrests (windows, locks, mirrors) also all stopped working. At lot of it is intermittent though. Sometimes the turn signals work, sometimes they don’t. Sometimes they turn on, but won’t turn off. I showed the service manager how the button on the back for the trunk wasn’t working, but then we opened it with the button at the front of the car by the parking brake and then the button in the back started working again.

It’s weird. The service manager and the mechanic who were there when I dropped it off said they’ve never seen anything like it before.

Is yours US-made or did it come out of the Ulsan factory? Not sure if it makes a difference, but just thought it might be good to have more background.
