  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have been to the dealer many times regarding the frightening 10 to 15 second front end vibration after driving over a rough road surface of small road bump. Because the service tech could not replicate the vibration during his road test, the problem continues. Does anyone have any recommendations in order to correct this safety issue?
Thank you.

Did you ever figure out what the issue was? We had the same issue earlier and it was alarming. It was a continuous vibration for about 5 seconds at least. We think that it was something to do with the electric power steering.

Has anyone else had this issue as well? If so, what was the problem or the fix? Thanks

The vibration just started happening after I had the front tires replaced. I don't know if that has something to due with it. It has occurred when crossing railroad tracks and hitting bumps in the road.

There was a problem with the Gear Linkage Assembly. That was fixed, and the issue went away.

I've noticed this a few times on my car as well. Do you happen to have details as to what to look for or point the service tech at, because it only started happening after a California Pothole destroyed two of my aftermarket wheels (and I put the stock wheels back on).

If you're willing to share the service invoice, that'd be amazing.

Thanks!

The service tech wrote on the invoice, "Found steering rack has play internally. Replaced steering rack assembly." The code is 57700-B1351 Gear & linkage ASSY-MDPs. Luckily it was covered under warranty.
