  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My 2011 4.6 Sedan (Tech package) is at the dealer. I started noticing it was hard to get it in reverse as the shifter floated. Now it won’t settle in Park so I could not get it started. Dealer does not know the problem.

Try getting to the shift lock and see if you can by pass it like that?

I unlocked the shift lock when I had it towed and tried to get it to recover but didn’t help.

Car would not move from parking for some reason

I understand yours is a Gen1 vs. Gen2, but the issue is the same, same design between the 2 generations, even if the parts differ slightly, this is a common design that has been around for 50 years, gradually moving from a cabled linkage to an electronic linkage, but the design and operation theory is the same

Thanks. I called them with that info and that is the conclusion they had arrived at and are seeking the part from Hyundai.

Linkage nut was stripped. They say it’s a $40 part and it’s on the way.
