  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Often times but not always when I'm coming out of reverse and then put it into drive to go forward the rpms hit about 5g because it's still in neutral. And I put my foot on the brake put it back in drive and it jumps back into neutral. Usually by the third time it stays in Drive.

Regarding above post, I have a 2018 G80 with a 5.0 V-8. And I forgot to mention that when I come out of reverse I hit the brake first then put it in drive then the problem starts as I mentioned above

I have seen this happen a few times myself. You can’t just smack it into Drive which is what I sometimes do when I am in a rush. You have to deliberately put it in Drive and leave it there for a fraction of a second before releasing.

That describes when it usually happens when I'm in a hurry and people are waiting for me to get out of the way LOL but thanks for confirming what I already thought. The fact that I'm 71, my reaction time it's not getting any better it's probably a contributing factor as well. Thanks again.
