shifting problem

Is there anything that can be lubed on the V6 shift linkage? Mine has suddenly become hard to shift in and out of park

My 2010 V6 is acting up by intermittently refusing to let me move the shift lever out of drive any further than neutral. If I fiddle around enough and turn the engine on and off I can get it to work.Is this likely to be a major job? Also if I lease for three years before I bought it does that mean I am not the original owner?

May be a problem with the brake pedal. The transmission will not allow the shifter to move in some cases unless the brakes are pressed, and there have been cases where it was getting bad info on whether the brakes were being applied. See whether pumping the brake hard helps.

I would also give your VIN to a dealer and ask if any TSB's or recalls are outstanding on your car. Even if not, it may be related to our brake, and the service advisor may have an idea what the problem is.

Read my reply to your post in another thread you created. You don't need more than one thread. Also, you posted this in the Coupe section, but you claim you have a sedan. Which do you have, a Genesis Coupe or Sedan.
