Shopping for an oil control valve 243603C810 for Genny 2009

That site is ran by another Hyundai dealership. There isn't a dealer in the country that shows the 3CAC0 in stock. Their online catalog is just pulling numbers and prices. Even Hyundai's catalog doesn't show the updated part #. So unless they have some stashed away somewhere that isn't in their inventory, they won't be able to get it.

You are right. They contacted me saying the part is not in stock and is indeed discontinued. There are some sellers on ebay but they either ship from Korea or sell it along the camshaft itself, hence a higher price. Do you think a used one can be found for this? I saw that it has been used in many other Hyundai and Kia cars...

Another thing is that some stores like parts.com (here) seem to carry this part. Aren't they separate from dealers? I mean if they are they may actually have it in inventory...

Doubtful. If you read the "about parts.com" it says that they get their parts from dealers. That part has been discontinued for a couple years now, IIRC, so I doubt they have it, if they even have an inventory at all.

I emailed them, but it is likely that they don't have it either. I guess the only option is to buy from Korea, because replacing it with the new one and replacing the camshaft would probably mean more labor cost, if no other parts needed replacing to fit the new camshaft!

Update: The new part which was supposedly a replacement for the discontinued one did not fit the genesis! The mechanic said the chain is a little loose, probably because the CVVT is a little smaller than the original one. At this point they don't know what to do, so I am investigating options for purchasing the part from Korea, if the ebay listings are valid. Im not even sure if this is necessary, because the mechanic said the CVVT had no visually apparent issue. The Hyundai masters said to replace it just in case!

Not sure if your issue is resolved or not, but I just wen through a similar ordeal and my dealer ended up replacing the timing chains, cam gears, cam shafts , guides and tensioner, and OCV. This solved the timing issue. But it created another low oil pressure at idle situation. Switching to 10W30 solved the problem as the service manager said that when the car was part they thouroughly cleaned everything of any sludge etc and that tolerances had slipped causing a slight dip in oil pressure. We'll see how it goes.

Update after nearly 3 years: After replacing only one camshaft and CVVT, the car worked fine for the past 3 years (abour 20k miles), but with a check engine light that is constantly on Now I'm in California and I cannot register the car unless the CEL goes away. Looking into changing the other camshafts to resolve the light issue, but dealer rates are too high here (180 /hr and an 18 hour job, whereas in Ohio I was quoted 100 /hr and a 12 hr job). Any ideas on a better deal, price-wise, around bay area?
