If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Bought new. 2012 Rspec 5.0 V8 37,300 miles. LOVING IT! I trade cars usually at 12 months, but find my Rspec so amazing, I'm having trouble finding an excuse to trade. Been looking in the $40k range for '12 left over stock of SRT8 anything, BMW 5 series, Acura, Infinity, even Mercedes. There is nothing on the planet with V8 and all the technology at our price range. Updated navigation and car integrated software is gaining a lead over Hyundai, but everything else I see is over priced and usually less optioned. Go Hyundai!! No telling how many people I have sent into Hyundai showrooms.

A used '12 Equus is about my only option.

Genesis is an excellent value/performance. Hard to argue that. TrueCar lists 2013 5.0's at $40,000, maybe that's your next step if you're not willing to wait for the 2015's.

Are the 2015's coming out in 2014? I'm not in a hurry, but my highway mileage is exceeding my equity n car. I would sell for $35k and buy another Rspec if I had time to list it and all that.

I guess I like my money in the bank rather than depreciating in a car. That's why I purchase a new car with cash and drive it to 230k to 250k which is about 6 years driving for my wife and I, then I replace it. Getting a new car every year or two is very expensive; skip a few years and take a two week vacation to Italy or someplace.

some people enjoy driving their cars more than going on vacation.

I've been to Istanbul, London, Paris this year.

I've had more fun than that on the first day I came back and got into my car.

To each their own.

I did get some good photos out of the vacation though...

Nice shots! :)
Istanbul must be an interesting place to visit.

yea...it was definitely interesting. Good place to be when they aren't rioting and killing each other...I got out two weeks before the serious violence started.

First photo is Hagia Sophia, second is Cistern Basilica...spelling might be off.

I totally agree. I'm bad about trading every one to two years. Typically two but I have found myself test driving new GS350s, infiniti Ms and a couple more. As crazy as it sounds I am spoiled with the RSpec. I know the interiors of some of the other cars are better but the ride of the others I have tried is not as smooth or as fast. Just can't give up the 5.0. Hate the service but love the car.

Love the financial advice. If I could afford $48k cash for my Rspec, I would take your advice. At least interest rates are low. I need to sell a lot more intakes and exhausts to pay cash for my next Rspec.

Well said about loving your car more than travel. Good point! My problem is I love cars and travel. I make better financial decisions with my travel I guess since I pay for our vacations w/o financing. Never been to Istanbul though. Looks fun!

Non car guys in my profession buy cheap 'beaters' and keep their Rspec at home for weekends or for the wife. I spend so much time in my car, I justify spending what I do and love every second of it. I have a race car for weekends. Financial pressure will probably win this debate for me and force me into a boring car.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
2015's are due out this spring but a limited production run of 2014's (no changes) are being sent to dealers to "tie them over" while waiting on the new Genny's to arrive. This is not a guess, it's confirmed by my service manager who was part of a meet & greet / walk-around of the new Genesis. The new Genesis is set to debut at the Detroit Auto Show this January.

All I do know is they better really step up their game, especially in the technology department where even the KIA Optima is considerably more advanced then any Genesis currently on the road.

I took my car with me on vacation. DC -> St. John, NB -> Halifax, NS -> Quebec City, QB -> Montreal, QB -> Back to DC.

My R-Spec IS my DD. I spend so much time in the car that I decided I should splurge rather than get a new cheap, fuel efficient sport compact/hatch like I'd planned after ruling out a used E60 M5.

My buddy showed up with a new Challenger SRT8. I liked the car but would definitely not trade. Love the look, but the price is way too high. I look at cars all the time and can't find a better bang for the buck.

nice photo, she's definitely a looker.

This is mine...from the time I went to the movie theater but didn't actually go in...(Brooklyn, New York)

I totally agree about the "stepping up" part. Cannot testify about the 2014/2015. Compared to other manufacturer's cars, the Genny is a good bit behind. Especially that danged DIS unit.

Sometimes you're funny. Sometimes not so much. Advising the OP what to do with his money was not a question or even a hint.

Man aint that the truth. My wife's Fusion has so many cool features that I wish I had on the Genny. MyFordTouch is amazing, when it works as advertised. I miss LDWS that actually steers the car back in the lane. I miss the blind-spot warning indicators, etc. That being said, it's not perfect. I miss my Genny's DIS knob, I miss the automated tilt upon egress/ingress, etc.

Well, I had 70% odds I would be in a new car today. Hyundai dealer wanted me to take home a new Azera tech package. Pretty sweet ride with amazing soft leather that beats my great Rspec leather. Pano roof was cool too. But dumb knob for stereo looked out of place in that caliber of car. All reviews criticize on center steering feel. My high mileage and price point made the Azera a cheaper option than another Rspec. They didn't have another Rspec to trade, so they may have been biased. Anyway, loving my Rspec like I do, I'm keeping it and racking up the miles. Waiting till the new Genesis models arrive.

Love the Canada travel pics and other good responses.
