  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am interested in purchasing a V6 with the Premium and Navigation package. I have been looking on the Fitzmall site and the new car inventory at almost all Hyundai dealers in NJ. It seems there are plenty of cars with the Tech package but almost none with Premium & Navigation package.

The Fitzmall site lists 52 cars, half are V8s. Of the 25 or so V6s, half are the base model and the other half are Tech models. Not one with premium and nav. Does anyone have any insight as to why?

I was in the same boat. I have been looking for a 3.8 Premium Package for at least 4-6 weeks and ended up biting the bullet and getting the 3.8 tech. Fitzgerald had one Black/Cashmere 3.8 Premium Nav that sold the day before I started talking with them. They have a Cabernet Red/Cashmere 3.8 Premium Nav voming in in the next few days. I almost grabbed that one but didn't love the color (sorry red fans) and like the extras that come with the tech package. I looked at every dealer's inventory from the Baltimore/Washington area to Richmond as well as western parts of VA and even southern PA. Nothing in the premium or premium nav. The reason the dealers give is that Hyundai seems to believe that the base and tech packages are/will be the most popular since most people willing to upgrade from the base model will want to go all the way to the tech or at least add navigation. Personally I think that while I love my 3.8 Tech, the 3.8 Premium is the best deal. For $2500 you get some nice extras. Wish Hyundai felt the same. If you have the patience a 3.8 Premium will eventually show up although waht color is anyone's guess.

I had the same issue as you - looking for a Premium in November. You are looking at a time of year when inventory is tight between what didn't sell during the year and before the new MY cars arrive, so you have less chance of getting what you want easily and are left with more of the "default" cars that typically populate dealer lots - base or fully loaded. Plus, I agree with above - there seem to be plenty of base and tech versions, but Premium is always hard to find.

Good luck - I eventually found mine one state away. I was also fully prepared to wait until I found what I wanted - I just got lucky.

My dealer, Hilton Head Hyundai, is going all the way to Naples Florida to pick up my 3.8 with premium. Took them almost a week to find it and it's two states away. Flat bed leaves Saturday morning for the 1050 mile round trip. We can't wait to pick it up Monday evening.

Try Brad Benson, Edison, Nj or Liberty in Mahwah NJ. Both are large volume dealers.

If neither has it call the Northeast Zone office located in Monroe/Jamesburg, NJ, Exit 8A of NJTP.

Your dealer of choice should have little problem locating and bringing in for you by flatbed or by driver whatever trim level you want.

What's the delivery charge?

Around here, it's $2 per mile for flatbed or like $100 to $200 max if driven back from other dealer.

Unless you are looking for a 2011 Tucson, you should have very little problem getting exactly what you want in a 2011. Keep in mind new units come in every few calendar days, and so inventories change continually. What you seek tomorrow might not be in the other dealer's inventory until a week from tomorrow and so on.........
